Kempner United Methodist Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of Kempner and the surrounding community. We do this through meaningful worship, spiritual formation and missional service to the world around us.
Rev. Kenneth Foster Sellers, Jr. (77 years young)
Ken had a career as a worldwide consultant on computer software for manufacturing companies before being called to pastoral ministry in 1994. Before retiring from St. John’s UMC in San Antonio, Texas in 2007, Ken served in the Texas communities of Rock Island, Brackettville, and Freer/Bruni. His time in the small rural church in Texas exceeded 11 years. During that time Ken has served in a wide variety of ministries including Emmaus retreats and Kairos prison ministry. His heart for ministry begins with small congregations who are still relevant and still serving God’s purpose. His wife Judith is also a retired UMC preacher who is currently serving as pastor at First United Methodist in Evant, TX. Ken and Judith have a blended family with five sons, three daughters-in-love, and six grandchildren (three of them reside in the Austin area).
